Jesus told a parable with the message of always praying and not losing hope. Many misunderstand the message because they don't understand the rabbinical teaching method that Jesus was employing. The contrasts Jesus makes should give us all hope that our prayers are heard by our loving heavenly Father.

God instructs Hosea to seek out his wife (who has returned to prostitution), pay her slave price, and take her back. “Where, I say, do we find anything like this save in the parables of Jesus? For the love of Hosea was as the love of that greater Galilean.1”

I can’t imagine how difficult that would have been—to be betrayed and abandoned (for a life of prostitution no less) and then to go and find her and bring her home. But that is what God told him to do, and today we’re going to dig deep into the why and explore what it tells us about God and his desires for us.

Jesus was asked about when the kingdom of God would come. He replied that it was already among them. They were asking the King of kings. He went on to explain that He would be rejected by that generation, but that He would return suddenly like lightning. Are you ready for that day He returns?
