Mid-Morning
Host: Lynne Ford
It’s Mid-Morning‘s final week and, we begin it with a topic that, at one time, numerous Mid-Morning listeners considered controversial: mental illness. Why has the church struggled in ministering to those with mental illness, attributing it to weak faith, demonic possession or generational sin? Neuroscientist Dr. Matthew Stanford and The Lutheran Foundation‘s Dr. Dennis Goff explore the church’s discomfort, fear and confusion surrounding mental illness. The duo then shares insights into the role of faith, community, psychology and psychiatry in treating mental illness in its many forms.
