Three nights later, he fell off a cliff in the dark mountains of Tennessee, broke his spine, and woke up paralyzed from the chest down.

But instead of despair, Scott found joy.

As August begins, we're in that in-between season: the baseball season is coming down the home stretch now with the trade deadline, the World Cup is over, and football and fall sports are still a little ways away.
