Last Friday was a special night for Hillsboro-Central Valley with the team celebrating senior night. It was also the night the Langdon Area/Edmore Munich Cardinals brought rolled into town with their 44-game winning streak.
"Any time we play 'em, it's always gonna be a great game," said Hillsboro-Central Valley senior center Masyn Fandrich.
The last time the two met, the 2018 Class A State Championship final - a 20-18 win for the Cardinals, their 12th in a row. Before that, the two played in the 2017 Class A State Championship - Langdon's last loss, over 1,400 days ago, until Friday night.
On Friday, the Burros would snap that streak of days without a loss for the Cardinals football team. A 28-13 win for Hillsboro-Central Valley. Fate making its presence known Oct. 1, 2021, as it had Nov. 10, 2017.
"I feel like we were almost meant to beat them," said Fandrich.
