  • The "Original Lakeside" docks at WDKK Radio
In 1969, Dayton, Ohio native Stephen Shockley formed the Young Underground after exiting the Monterreys. Vocalist Mark Woods, who was a member of the local band the Nomads, joined up with Shockley to form a more mature-sounding Young Underground. While in Chicago the group renamed itself Lakeside Express.
The group signed a deal with Griffey, and released their first Top Ten hit on Solar Records, "It's All the Way Live," which peaked at number four on the Billboard R&B charts.
In 1980 they went storming up the charts again with their smash number one single, "Fantastic Voyage," which was produced by the self-contained band. The group continued their success with the Billboard Top Ten singles "Raid," "Outrageous," and a string of R&B party songs and ballads.
The group is currently on a US tour taking audiences on a “Fantastic Voyage”. They are docking at WDKK Radio to talk about their continued success.

    Separation

When you miss someone, you feel intense pain. Estranged lovers often fail to lead a normal life. The emptiness gnaws at their heart, rendering them incapable of focusing on their work.

  • Take the limits off
Jesus invites us to live beyond the boundaries of limited possibilities. The city of Nazareth shut down off the flow of the power of God available to them. Let's not do the same. Listen in.

  • Wardell's Praise Show
The only way to trust God is to trust him entirely. The only way to follow him is with 100% undivided commitment. Trusting God also means not leaning on your own understanding.
In this passage, two phrases jump out: "all your heart" and "all your ways." Try replacing the word "all" with "some of" or "most of," and it doesn't work, does it?

    Blessed
I am very thankful that God has blessed me with such amazing people in my life. He knows when to send amazing people. Relationships ( In business) can be hard and when things get rocky, He just knows who to send in to make me feel better. I'm thankful to have the constant love of my family and friends. My sisters are amazing. It has been a very good year and we've only gotten closer because of that. Though I may have lost some people along the way, I thank God that he has blessed me with an open and accepting attitude that allows better things to come.

  • The language of Pentecost
Human beings do not live in the objective world alone, nor alone in the world of social activity as ordinarily understood, but are very much at the mercy of a particular language which has become the medium of expression for their society. The fact of the matter is that their “real world” is to a large extent unconsciously built up in the language habits of the group. . . . We see and hear and otherwise experience very largely as we do because the language habits of our community predispose certain choices of interpretation. So what happened at Pentecost?

  • Wardell's Praise Show
God tells us in the Bible, (Jeremiah 31:3). It doesn’t matter how far you try to run from Him, He loves you and wants to forgive you where you’ve gone wrong.
Discover God’s love for yourself. Read the 3 Steps to Peace below.
Step 1 – God loves you and has a plan for you!
The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”—a complete life full of purpose (John 10:10).
    But here’s the problem:
Step 2 – Man is sinful and separated from God.
We have all done, thought or said bad things, which the Bible calls “sin.” The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
The result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23).
    The good news?
Step 3 – God sent His Son to die for your sins!
Jesus died in our place so we could have a relationship with God and be with Him forever.
“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
“Christ died for our sins. … He was buried. … He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6).
    “Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name
