Lake Placid News Editor Andy Flynn interviewed Rebecca Dayton, assistant manager at the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid, on June 11 about the major improvements planned for the venue, which was the site of ski jumping for the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. The site is operated by the state Olympic Regional Development Authority.

Lake Placid News Staff Writer Griffin Kelly interviewed 11-year-old Lincoln Norfolk on June 11 at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts during the world premiere of Norfolk's short film, "Finding Home." His parents, Matt and Darcy, were included in the interview.

The Lake Placid News interviewed Ryan "Smiley" Grady on Thursday, May 31 at the newspaper's office on Mill Hill. Grady had just returned from the month-long, 2,100-mile Carry the Load East Coast Relay, of which he was a participant. The journey began on May 1 in West Point, New York and ended on May 27 in Dallas, Texas.

The Lake Placid News interviewed 99-year-old Ruth Hart on Sunday, May 20 at the first Lake Placid Community Day at the North Elba Show Grounds. She had just been named the 2018 Lake Placid-North Elba Adult Distinguished Volunteer of the Year.
