Police officers are not suppose to hurt. Most of the time, they are expected to take care of one call and respond to the other. Some of those calls can be very traumatic and affect them in a way they may not realize. September is Suicide Prevention Month and it is only fitting to end this month with an episode discussing Suicide and Mental Health awareness, particularly when it comes to first responders. In this episode, Nate who is a former police officer, accompanied by his fiancée Sharon, tells his powerful story of when he was in a very dark place in his life and attempted suicide. By telling his story, Nate is hoping to raise awareness when it comes to the mental health of first responders and encourage others who may be hurting to reach out for help before they do something that cannot be undone. Episode recorded 09/29/20.
