Hey everyone, in this episode we had the amazing opportunity to interview my (Celine’s) dad, a professor at UCCS who has a lot of insights to offer on the topic of NIH budget cuts. We talk about indirect costs, why the proposal to cap indirect costs at 15% harms research institutions, and what the future might look like for universities. Enjoy!

Hey everyone! Going along with our current theme of advocating for animal welfare, this week we decided to talk about puppy mills. Puppy mills are unethical mass breeding sites for dogs that are often sold to pet stores. The conditions dogs are forced to endure in these places are egregious, and Celine herself has seen the impacts of the mills on her dog Alfie. We hope this episode sheds light on these issues and empowers you to contact your legislators to enact change and end puppy mills!

In this episode we have the honor of interviewing Roland, a member of Colorado Voters for Animals. We talk about how everyone can get involved in furthering the cause of animal welfare, what legislation we have seen and would like to see, and what to do if you witness animal mistreatment. Below are resources and ways to get involved.

How to get involved:

Reach out to legislators in your area and follow them on social media

Provide testimony

Attend town hall meetings

Volunteer with organizations

Learn and educate others
