What was the last big fight you had with someone? Did it blow over, or does it still feel like there's an invisible wall between you and them? There are so many things that cause separation in our relationships: misunderstanding, hurt feelings, anger, resentment, prejudice — all individual bricks that become walls between us. Some early Jesus-followers had this problem too. They struggled to get past their feuds and differences of opinion, so a guy named Paul wrote them a letter. In Ephesians chapter 2, he said that, just like we build walls between each other, we also build walls between us and God. But there's good news! Jesus has torn down the walls that keep us far from God and far from each other. Because of Jesus, we are "reconciled" to God and we can learn to "reconcile" with each other. We can do for others what God has done for us, because that's what God's family does.
