In this episode, Christiana and Hope discuss their friendship in the framework of the past year, and how it changed as they transitioned away from being roommates, got into romantic relationships, grew closer with other friends, and connected and especially, built lives in a post-vaccinated world. They also talk about how their friendships with others and social appetites in general changed in the past year, and thought about what friendship between them might look like in the next.
In this episode, Hope and Christiana cover the ins and outs of long-distance friendship. They start off talking about their personal experiences with long-distance friendship, including reviewing the way their own relationship felt when they were apart and how that changed once they were both in New York, and making predictions for how they'll feel once they're LDR again. Spoiler: Their love will persist!
Then, we spend some time with a very special trio of friends: Sabine Pigg, Zoe Duncan-Doroff, and Lea Davis (friendship roots est. 2002, Portland, Oregon). Despite now living in their respective corners of the country, they are an inspirational example of unconditional love and support that goes the distance. What makes our conversation with these three extra special is that we were able to chat in person, all thanks to Zoe and Lea surprising Sabine for her birthday/happy med school/going away party in New York City.
Thanks for listening, and a huge thank you to Sabine, Zoe, and Lea for coming on the show. We love you!
