  • WE'RE BACK The World Feels More Violent—But Is It?

After time away, the crew is back at the table—and it doesn't take long for the conversation to go somewhere unexpected.

We start with the rise of men-only gyms and the argument that some men need a separate place to work out to avoid distraction, temptation, or discomfort around women. Is there anything wrong with wanting a single-gender space, or does the reasoning behind it say something deeper about personal responsibility, self-control, and the way men and women interact today?

Then the conversation takes a much darker turn.

Recent violence involving social media influencers and cartels in Mexico opens a larger debate about the value we place on human life. With graphic violence, road-rage confrontations, wars, and death constantly appearing on our screens, are we becoming desensitized—or does it simply feel as though the world is becoming more violent?

Mike challenges that perception with U.S. murder statistics showing that homicide has actually declined, while the group examines an important contradiction: murder can be going down while other forms of aggression, including road rage, appear to be moving in the opposite direction.

From there, the table gets bigger.

The conversation moves into war, Russia, economic sanctions, Israel, political leadership, money in American politics, term limits, election trust, and the growing frustration of voters who feel trapped between two political parties they don't completely believe in.

Could a legitimate third party change the equation? The group looks back at candidates such as Ross Perot and Ralph Nader and asks what an independent political movement would actually have to do differently to become more than a protest vote—and whether a three-party system could force Washington to compromise again.

And, as always, the show closes with Today in History, including Christopher Columbus's voyage, Thomas Edison, George Soros, and other events connected to August 12.

Funny, uncomfortable, argumentative, serious, and occasionally chaotic—this is what happens when people who don't always agree are still willing to sit at the same table and talk.

🎙️ Episode Title: Only in Sports
🎧 Podcast: We Could Be Wrong

In this emotionally charged episode, the team pulls back the curtain on how the current Trump administration has impacted them personally. The conversation turns unexpectedly raw, especially as head contributor Christopher opens up about a deep shift in his perspective. Known for his playful optimism and belief in unity, Chris now seems distant, disillusioned, and increasingly jaded. His once-hopeful voice has quieted into something more somber—resigned even—as he reflects on the administration's consequences, especially for the impoverished and communities of color who supported it. “They’re going to get exactly what they deserve,” he says, in a moment that stuns even longtime listeners.

The title Only in Sports ties back to a candid, behind-the-scenes conversation captured at the episode’s start and cleverly referenced at the end. Can you catch it?

Tune in to We Could Be Wrong, the political podcast that blends real talk, personal experience, and just enough humor to keep things grounded. Politics isn't just policy—it's personal. And yes, it does matter. So vote. Always.

  • Trump, Harvard, and the Divide: Who Believes What — and Why?

In this thought-provoking episode, our team sits down for a wide-ranging conversation that dives into some of the most polarizing issues of the moment. They unpack Trump’s battle with Harvard — is it fair and just? The discussion then pivots to the state of education: are teachers paid what they deserve, and are universities really preparing the next generation?

As the conversation deepens, the group debates the appropriateness of Trump’s latest pardon. Christopher raises a compelling question: why do the more educated and financially comfortable tend to be more disillusioned with Trump, while many working-class and less formally educated Americans remain fiercely loyal, even when Trump’s policies may ultimately harm them and their loved ones?

This episode explores the intersections of politics, education, class, and identity, and why belief in a leader can sometimes defy logic and personal interest.
