The myth is that we need more police officers. It's an easy, throw-away line that politics use to rally you to their side. Who is going to vote NO to more police, more protection? My question to you is, did police protect those 8 people that died yesterday at the end of the shooter's gun? No! Because, for the most part, the police react to a crime that is being committed. The truth is more police are not the answer. The answer is to decrease crime. You do that with better gun laws, addressing poverty, education, and creating an environment of equal opportunity. Reacting to something that has happened means you are already too late to stop it.
