Guests: Paul Faris – President, Support the Troops MN
Music Guest: Chas Evans
We have an incredible show this week, packed with heart, humor, and harmony. This week’s guests brought the energy!
Paul Faris, President of
Support the Troops MN, joined us to share his organization’s mission and the important work they do for veterans and service members. Paul explained how
Support the Troops MN steps in to help those in need—right when they need it most. He walked us through how their system operates, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration with other organizations. For example, their vetting process is handled through trusted partners, which allows them to provide immediate emergency support once needs are verified. Paul also discussed their partnership with the Magnus Foundation, which helps sustain their outreach and fundraising efforts. His message was clear:
when small nonprofits join forces, the impact multiplies.Chas Evans brought the music magic! A talented guitarist, performer, and teacher, Chas not only trains others to play but also writes original songs from lyrics people send him. During the show, we challenged him to write a jingle for Support the Troops MN—and he delivered a fun live version on the spot! We’re excited to see where that project goes, and there might even be a future connection with Guitars for Vets in Mississippi.
“Dear Mom” – Chas Evans
(Ask Chas how this one connects with “Letters From Home” and what inspired it.)
“Days When It Won’t Rain” – John Hensley
“Ferris Wheel” – CJ Garton
Thank you to everyone helping us honor our heroes laid to rest at the National Cemetery. Every wreath is a symbol of remembrance and gratitude.
