He described (with the help of a stuffed lobster) how our body is able to fight against patogens. How we can create specific antibodies to defend ourselves for example against viruses. For this he received the Nobel prize in physiology or medicine. Susumu Tonegawa started his work in the field of chemistry, than he switched into immunology and now he concentrates on neuroscience. He is also a big fan of filmmaker Akira Kurosawa and of the baseball team of Red Sox.
