December 01, 2023 We Love Hakka (Culture: 全國客家日 National Hakka Day)

在2021年以前，「全國客家日」是定在農曆1月20日的「天穿日」舉辦，但南部客庄大部分沒有「天穿日」這個節日，因此從2022年開始，客委會將12月28日訂為「全國客家日」，期望將客語從聯合國教科文組織的語言活力標準的「嚴重瀕危」變成「安全」的狀態。

Before 2021, the National Hakka Day was on the 20th day of the first lunar month, coinciding with the Ripped Sky Festival. However, most Hakka communities in southern Taiwan don't observe this festival. So since 2022, the Hakka Affairs Council designated December 28th as the new National Hakka Day. This aims to enhance the status of the Hakka language from "severely endangered" to "safe" based on UNESCO Language Vitality Assessment Indicators.

The 7th day of the 7th Lunar month is not only a day for lovers but also the title of one of the songs written by Boiii P. This song is an adaptation of the traditional Hakka folk song ‘Blossoming Peach Flower’ and features the Hakka singer Han Huang. The track incorporates elements of light electronic and pop music, creating a lively and upbeat melody. It expresses the sweet, blissful emotions of a man in pursuit of a woman, capturing the essence of falling in love.

Boiii P, originally from Zhudong in Hsinchu, is a rising talent as both a singer and music producer. He takes charge of every aspect of his music, from writing lyrics and composing to arranging and producing. In his song《努力》meaning 'Hard Work,' Boiii P showcases his expertise in R&B and hip-hop. The song highlights the industrious and positive attitude of the Hakka people, as well as their renowned hospitality.

彭柏邑的第二張客語創作專輯《客氣》入圍第34屆金曲獎最佳客語專輯獎、年度專輯獎。收錄其中的《山客》是一首嘻哈情歌，描繪了對心儀女孩的愛慕，從初次相遇被女孩的恬靜又美麗的模樣吸引，到時時刻刻依偎在一起。這對情侶因為短暫相戀而被他人閒言碎語，但對他們來說只要能共度當下、彼此相愛也無所謂。

Boiii P's second Hakka-language album, “Humble”《客氣》 has been nominated for the Best Hakka Album and Album of the Year at the 34th Golden Melody Awards. One of the songs featured in the album, 《山客》meaning 'Hakka people in Mountain', is a hip-hop love song. It describes the affection for a girl, from being captivated by her serene and beautiful appearance at first meeting to constantly staying close together. The couple, despite facing gossip due to their brief romance, believes that as long as they can live in the moment and love each other, nothing else matters.

邱淑蟬，高雄六龜客家人，喜歡將日常的生活瑣事寫進創作。她將六龜的風聲、鳥鳴、溪流聲，還有她溫暖質樸的嗓音與柔柔的吉他聲，收錄到歌曲《所在》裡面並且獻給高雄。藉著音樂，聽眾能夠聞到田間的果香、望見夕陽下橘紅色的天空，無論盛夏還是涼秋都能夠感受她對於這片土地的依戀。

Chiu Shu Chan, a Hakka person from Liugui in Kaohsiung, likes to include everyday life details in her creative work. In her song "Where I Belong," she captures the sounds of the wind, birds, and streams in Liugui. She also incorporates her warm and simple voice along with gentle guitar tunes. The song is dedicated to Kaohsiung. Through her music, listeners can almost smell the fruity aroma of the fields, see the orange sky at sunset, and feel her love for this land, whether it's in the heat of summer or the cool of autumn.

創作歌手邱淑蟬的音樂之路是從大學時期開始的，在那時候她學會了彈吉他，並在大人的保護傘之下成長，畢業後脫離保護傘成為社會人士，身分上的轉換讓邱淑蟬感到混亂，後來她慢慢找到生活的節奏、不再徬徨，於是將這段人生經歷，創作為歌曲《行》。邱淑蟬透過這首歌告訴聽眾，迷惘只是一時的，只要找到目標就能夠繼續行走於人生道路上。

Chiu Shu Chan is a singer-songwriter who started her music career in college. That's when she learned to play the guitar. After finishing college, she entered the adult world, leaving behind the protective environment she had been in. This change made her feel uncertain for a while. However, she eventually found her footing in life and stopped feeling lost. She used this personal journey as inspiration for her song titled "On the Way." In this song, she wants to tell listeners that it's okay to feel confused sometimes; what matters is finding a goal to guide you in life.

臺東好米收冬祭是臺東客家人最重要的慶典活動，象徵農民對稻米的濃厚感情、對上天與祖先的崇敬、對土地的慎重。今年活動將於11月26號在臺東的神農宮舉行，有祭典儀式、美食市集、音樂會等活動，藉此讓民眾認識臺東稻米，愛上米食。

The "Taitung Winter Rice Harvest Festival" is the most significant celebration for the Hakka community in Taitung. It symbolizes farmers' deep appreciation for rice, their reverence for the heavens and ancestors, and their respect for the land. This year, the festivities will take place on November 26th at the Shennong Temple in Taitung. With ceremonial rituals, a food market, and concerts on the agenda, it's a great opportunity for everyone to get to know Taitung rice and fall in love with rice dishes.
