The Democratic Party’s leftward lurch is much in evidence in this year’s midterm elections.  Tuesday’s primary in Vermont was a case in point as transgender activist Christine Hallquist garnered Democrats’ nomination for that state’s governor.

To calibrate Ms. Hallquist’s extremism, look no further than her recent Tweet which read, “And we worry about Sharia law!! Radicalized Christians are part of the American landscape and we tolerate it.”

Both parts of this statement are alarming.  The suggestion that we shouldn’t worry about a supremacist ideology that seeks the destruction of our constitutional republic and values is absurd.  And the moral equivalence Ms. Hallquist implies between totalitarian Sharia’s adherents and so-called “Radicalized Christians” is not just preposterous. It is unhinged.

It’s high time we had a serious debate about Sharia-supremacism and those who either espouse it or enable it.  Let that debate begin now.
