In this special weekend episode, I talk about the importance of minding our words, especially when words can hurt others or dehumanize them.
Words can heal, but words can also hurt. And in light of the insurrection at the US Capitol building on Wednesday January 6, 2021, and the resulting call to come together to strengthen our democracy, I felt a strong pull to sharing the reflections in this episode, to talk about the state of our democracy in the US, and more importantly, the state of us, as a community and as a humanity. The way we, as a society choose to use our words is a powerful tool at our disposal, and the words we say matter; or even those words we don’t say but need to say also matter.
