  • Frankenstein, Dracula, or Zombie?

So, you’ve heard of the Soup, Salad, or Sandwich game, but what about Frankenstein, Dracula, or Zombie? Our hosts have this theory that most of our horror films fall into one of these categories. Blake and Kashif explore several frightening flicks including Jeepers Creepers and Silence of the Lambs (people as wearables, anyone?) and make their case. Why does evil turn us off…but also on? How does anti-trans rhetroric show up in horror films? Stay for Going/Not Going.

  • World Music w/ SueAnn Shiah

The world has been talking about Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour lately, but not so much about the world music record that’s actually supporting it. Multihyphenate and long-time friend SueAnn Shiah joins this conversation about white artists using “ethic” sounds to revive their careers. They compare three world music records: Caedmon Call’s “Share the Well,” Ed Sheeran’s “Play,” and of course, Paul Simon’s “Graceland.” Stay for the Going/Not Going at the end (Jeffree Star trigger warning).

  • Have A Glass Of Wine, It’s Not Gonna Kill You

The girls sit down with guest, Leisa Hans just a little over a month after losing her sister to a 4 year long battle with cancer. She touches on her close relationship with her own mother, the guilt she feels when losing patience with her teenager and why you should always say “no, thank you” to the student that’s volunteering to administer your epidural.

    Follow Leisa:

    Instagram: @leisahans

    About our guest:

Leisa Hans is a Mississippi girl who has called Nashville home for more than 26 years, long enough to have watched the city grow, change, reinvent itself, and still know where some of the good stuff is hiding.

Before real estate, Leisa spent time in the music world, singing and touring with successful recording artists. That life gave her a front-row seat to Nashville’s creative community and introduced her to many of the people who would eventually become friends, clients, collaborators, and a big part of the life she’s built here.

She found her way into real estate in 2014 and started her own team in 2017. Today, she leads Lolly Estates, a boutique Nashville real estate team with a particular connection to the city’s music and creative communities. For Leisa, though, real estate has never just been about houses. It’s about people, how they want to live, and helping them find their place in a city she genuinely loves.

A connector by nature, Leisa gets a ridiculous amount of joy from putting the right people in the same room, whether that means finding someone a home, introducing two people who need to know each other, or sharing the perfect antique shop, restaurant, designer, contractor, or hidden Nashville gem.

She has a deep love for fashion, interiors, design, antiquing, thrifting, grocery shopping, and the art of making a home feel collected rather than decorated. Cooking is one of her absolute favorite things in the world, especially when it ends with the people she loves gathered around the table. Give her an afternoon digging through an antique store, a trip to the grocery store with no particular plan, a beautifully set table, a great outfit, a house with soul, or a long dinner with friends and family, and she’s happy.

At the center of all of it is something Leisa values above almost everything else: authenticity. In homes, in style, in friendships, in business, and in people. She believes the most interesting things are rarely the most perfect ones, and she has built both her career and her life around that idea.

Leisa shares her Nashville home with her longtime partner, Rod, her daughter, Hattie, two dogs, Rosie and Tex, and two cats, Emma and Bailey.

  • Junk Drawer: Thrifting, Kirkiversary, Rogue AI, and Millennial Optimism

Why on earth are prices so high at thrift stores? A year after the killing of Charlie Kirk and taxpayers’ unwitting role in the slew of 2025 firings. AI scientists need an old school whupping, not for what they’ve created but for what they actually haven’t. Gen Zers fantasize about millennial optimism, but are we (two millennials) sure we remember that? Stay for Going/Not Going, starring a very chesty male (hint: it’s *shockingly* not Jeremy Camp).

  • The Disappearers w/ Marlon James

The Disappearers is a book of the decade, and we’re so glad to share our conversation with its author, Marlon James. Set in 1980’s Jamaica, this epistolary gay revenge thriller (yes, it’s all of those things), chronicles the lives of eight gay men following an attack. What does it mean for our culture to disappear us? How can people disappear, but not leave? This is a career-defining work, and you don’t want to miss this unruly and heartfelt conversation. Stay for our new version of the game, “Going/Not Going” at the end.

  • PCOS, Placenta Burps and the Pull & Pray

The Momcult is officially on YouTube! Join us as we chatted over zoom with Nicole Lim — Nashville based makeup artist turned director, screenwriter, and producer! Joy is feeling anxious about getting her shit together and Sarah is more at peace with baby #2.

For this first episode of Season Six, the gals discuss the hopes of expanding the Momcult Brand and Nichole shares everything from the pull and pray years, finding out you’re pregnant on Christmas morning, and pumping on a film set 3 weeks postpartum. We also got into the real stuff — what it’s like when your husband tours for weeks at a time and you have to build a shell to survive him being gone, then peel it back off when he walks back through the door. The kids change while he’s away. You change. And somehow you have to find your way back to each other every single time.

Nichole is the creative partner Joy met at the Nashville Film Festival last year, and together they’re developing Joy’s “I’m A Winner” short film into an episodic series.

    Follow Nichole:

    About our guest:

Nichole Lim is a Nashville-based director, screenwriter, and producer with more than fifteen years in the film industry. She began her career in the makeup department, eventually becoming an IATSE Local 798 Key Makeup Artist and working across studio features, independent films, television, and commercials before moving behind the camera herself.

Her films have screened nationally and internationally, including at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Nashville Film Festival, and Defy Film Festival, earning recognition for both directing and screenwriting.

Nichole loves ensemble casts, female-driven stories, and complicated, imperfect characters. She’s endlessly interested in why people are the way they are, the things they don’t say, and the relationships that shape them, especially when it’s funny, awkward, heartbreaking, or somehow all three. She lives in Nashville with her husband and two kids, where she is usually writing something, making something, or standing in a room trying to remember why she went in there.

  • Feels Like Somebody’s Watching Me: Surveillance Capitalism

In today’s world, we are always giving up our privacy for the promises of safety, connection, and convenience. But is the tradeoff worth it? In this episode, we explore how surveillance companies like Flock are actually making our neighborhoods more unsafe, why you just can’t seem to stop swiping (and paying for it!), and why nothing may have an actual price anymore. Stay for a revamped game at the end. We’re calling it “Going/Not Going” where we tell you what trend, person, or other aspect of culture is or isn’t getting us out to the party.

  • Let’s Talk About Catfishing [TEASER]

For this patreon-only conversation, we met up at a local favorite, Americano Lounge, to discuss the many forms catfishing takes in queer communities.

Both of us have been catfished more times than we can remember. Once you spend enough time on the apps, you of course develop something of a sixth sense when it comes to grainy, overcropped photographs and chatty blank profiles.

But we also recognize the pressures bearing down on us—the pressures to be fit, masc, white, and young in order to be deemed desirable and make connections. When we meet each other increasingly less and less in the real world, how do men who believe they’re #betterinperson meet other men?

  • Standing Tall w/ Rep. Gloria Johnson

Member of the ‘Tennessee Three’ Rep. Gloria Johnson is an educator at heart. Sometimes, that means being a teacher voice in the legislature (read: asking her republican colleagues ‘if you can hear me clap once!’ ‘if you can hear me clap twice!’), but it always means standing in the gap for all Tennesseeans. Join us in this honest conversation about Gloria’s new podcast, Standing Tall with Gloria Johnson, and spilling a little sweet tea on corruption in Tennessee politics.
