Episode 8 "Pryor's Place"

Richard Pryor tells educational stories

of his youth at a special urban neighborhood.

In the first episode,

Richie (ostensibly Pryor as a child) is

challenged to an afterschool showdown

by Meatrack, the neighborhood bully.

Despite a reputation for profanity from

Richard Pryor, Pryor's Place was

aimed at children. Like Sesame Street,

Pryor's Place featured a cast of

puppets hanging out and having fun in a

friendly inner-city environment,

along with several children and

characters portrayed by Pryor himself.

The theme song was performed by Ray Parker Jr.,

of Ghostbusters fame, who also appeared in

the show's opening credits. 13 episodes of

Pryor's Place were broadcast on Saturdays

on CBS from September 15 to December 8, 1984.

Episode 7 "Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos"

Chuck Norris is an operative for the

United States government who has a team

consisting of Pepper, a technological genius,

Kimo, a Samurai warrior, Reed, his apprentice,

Tabe, a Sumo warrior, and Too Much, the young ward.

Together they foil the plans of The Claw

and his right hand man, The Super Ninja.

Karate Kommandos (also known as Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos)

is an American animated television series that originally aired

in 1986 as a syndicated five episode mini-series.

It was created by and starred Chuck Norris as himself,

and produced by Ruby-Spears Enterprises.

The series follows the framing device of Mister T

(also a Ruby-Spears production). At the beginning

of each episode, a live action segment with Norris,

usually at a gym or a martial arts studio,

is shown to explain what is going on.

At the end of each episode, Norris narrates a

moral lesson for the audience to learn.

Veteran bassist Rik Fox is a fascinating character in the history of metal and hard rock music. Seemingly always as the right place but at the wrong time, he's a man who has experienced many near misses with bands like W.A.S.P., SIN, Steeler and many others. But despite this he is a picture of perseverance, which has led to his latest opportunity with the upcoming band Freakshow, and his motor is fueled up because of it.

Episode 6 "Conan the Adventurer"

Young Cimmerian barbarian Conan and his allies

must stop snake-man wizard Wrath-Amon and his

snake-men army from resurrecting evil serpent

god Set. Conan must also destroy the evil

wizard's ring that turned his family into stone.

Conan the Adventurer is an animated television

series adaptation of Conan the Barbarian,

the literary character created by Robert E. Howard

in the 1930s Produced by Jetlag Productions in

association with Sunbow Productions, the series

debuted on September 13, 1992, ran for 65 episodes

and concluded on November 22, 1993. The series was

developed by Christy Marx who served as the

sole story editor.

The series was produced in association with

Graz Entertainment for the first 13-episode season;

AB Productions and Jean Chalopin's Créativité et Développement

for the remaining episodes. The series also spawned

a small toyline in 1992 created by Hasbro. This first

incarnation of Conan in cartoon form performed much

better than its follow-up cartoon,

Conan and the Young Warriors, which lasted only 13 episodes.

Episode 5 "Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles"

In this adaption of Robert Heinlein's novel,

we follow the adventures of a squad of troops

as they fight in a war of survival against

merciless alien invaders. Facing constant danger,

they are the ones who have to do the thankless

task of facing the enemy head on, and for the

sake of humanity, they must prevail.

The series aired for one season in the

syndicated Bohbot Kids Network block beginning

in August 1999 in the United States and Canada.

It was later picked up by the Sci-Fi Channel

in the U.S. (along with the rest of the BKN block)

and Teletoon in Canada.

The show combines elements of the 1997 film

and the original novel, such as the extraterrestrial

race known as the Skinnies, powered armor suits

and drop pods. The series also adds some

original elements, while omitting the political

aspects of the original work and film.
