Paul didn’t have a steady crew of friends. He tried different groups, but never quite fit in all the time. Paul discusses his struggles in school with his ADD diagnosis, and the stigma that came with it. We also talk at length about Paul’s lost connection to Class of 2001, and the grief he dealt with finding out so many classmates had passed away, including his childhood friend, Matt Smith.

Kim and I were both heavily involved in the Chorus and Musical programs. We discuss the horrible politics of casting, and compare our Senior Year experiences.

We look at the role race plays in education, the built-in anxieties of gym class and lunch period, and the struggle to find genuine friendships in school.

Paige dishes on her experience being one of the "cool kids," not always feeling welcome with everyone in the group, and dating one of the most popular boys in school.

Paige had a drive to work hard all throughout her life, we examine that and at what point she wished she backed off the gas pedal a little bit.

Paige was also a State Champion long distance runner who knew at an early age it could help her get into college, but that doesn't mean she knew what she wanted to do when she got there. Paige talks about switching majors at Duke University, and the importance of seeking guidance when you need help finding your path.

I get a few minutes into this conversation and realize Tom was PRETTY CLOSE to a friend Senior Year. I even went to his Graduation Party! But I never knew much about Tom. Now he fills me in on his pressures to succeed on a struggling football team, being a teenage fireman, and his long desire to join the Air Force that almost feels like a story of destiny.
