  • The Great Divide | Luke 12:51-53
The Great Divide Luke 12:51โ€“53 "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." Every human soul stands on one side of an eternal divide. The determining issue is not race, nationality, wealth, education, morality, sincerity, or religious affiliation. The determining issue is personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished Gospel. Have you recently decided to follow Jesus? • Sin is Pursuing Happiness Apart from God and His Ways
(AI Generated Summary) The sermon explores the biblical concept that all humans naturally seek deep satisfaction and happiness, which God designed to be found only in Him. It contrasts this true joy with the futile pursuit of worldly pleasures apart from God, illustrating how sin always stems from a desire for happiness outside of His will. By examining examples such as Eve, Abram, Samson, and the rich young ruler, the text demonstrates that disobedience leads to ruin while obedience leads to genuine fulfillment. The central argument emphasizes that without being born again, individuals cannot perceive the value of God's Kingdom or understand why eternal treasure surpasses earthly wealth. Ultimately, the message calls listeners to recognize their need for a new heart and to pursue their ultimate happiness in Christ alone.

  • Labor Day
This sermon exhorts believers to embrace work as a divine design and obligation rather than a curse, highlighting that labor was part of God's original plan before the fall. It outlines three key aspects of Christian work: the responsibility to provide for family and employers with integrity, the objective to serve others and glorify God rather than merely accumulate wealth, and the attitude of working joyfully and faithfully regardless of circumstances. The preacher emphasizes that faithfulness is accessible to all and urges listeners to seize the limited time available to labor for the Kingdom before the night comes when no one can work. Ultimately, the message encourages a spirit of diligence and contentment, assuring believers that God sees their efforts and will reward them accordingly.

  • What Is That To You?
In "What Is That To You?" (John 21:20-25), Pastor Robert McNutt shows how John's Gospel, written that we may believe and have life, closes with a turn toward discipleship. Having restored Peter and foretold the death by which he would glorify God, Jesus commands, "Follow Me" - and Peter immediately turns to look at John and asks, "Lord, what about this man?" Christ's answer, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me," is among the most liberating sentences in Scripture, freeing us from the exhausting work of comparing and contesting with other believers. McNutt notes that distraction comes not only through the cares, riches, and pleasures that choke the seed, or Martha's much serving, or the prospering wicked that made Asaph stumble, but even through godly, Christ-following saints whose gifts we covet. He then distinguishes what is common to every Christian - faith in Christ alone, obedience to His commands, and the mission of being sent as the Father sent the Son - from what God sovereignly varies: our particular calling, seen in Peter's public ministry and martyrdom against John's quieter life of written witness; the measure of our gifting, illustrated by the parable of the talents, where the two-talent servant hears the same "well done" as the five; and the cost of following, which is heavier for some than others. The Christ-centered life is the undistracted life, and it makes sense because of the superior worth of Christ's person and the superior wealth of His promises - He is preparing a place, He will come again, and when we see Him we shall be like Him. So keep your eyes on the Author and Finisher of faith: you follow Me.

  • The Living and True God
The Living and True God (Jeremiah 10:1-16) The sermon contrasts the emptiness of human-made idols with the reality of the one living and true God, emphasizing that truth is objective rather than a matter of personal sincerity. It exposes modern idolatry as placing ultimate trust in created things like wealth or reputation, which inevitably fail to sustain life. The message asserts that correct theology alone is insufficient for salvation because sin separates humanity from God. Jesus Christ is presented as the sole mediator who bridges this gap through His sacrificial death and resurrection. True conversion requires turning away from all idols to place complete faith in Christ as Savior.
