Good morning, weather watchers! This is your Weather Wizard coming to you from the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina with a chilly update for Asheville, North Carolina.
Heads up, folks! We've got a Winter Weather Advisory in effect, so bundle up and buckle down. Today's forecast is a mixed bag of winter drama. Expect rain and snow before 2 in the afternoon, with a chance of rain after that and possibly a sprinkle of snow later in the day. Patchy fog will be hanging around between 8 in the morning and noon, so keep those headlights on and drive carefully.
The temperature will barely crawl up to 39 degrees Fahrenheit, with light winds shifting from variable to northwest at 5 to 7 miles per hour. We're looking at a potential of less than half an inch of snow accumulation.
Tonight, things get even cooler. Temperatures will plummet to a bone-chilling 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect a slight chance of snow showers after 3 in the morning, with patchy fog making a comeback. Winds will be howling from the northwest at 6 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 18 miles per hour.
Thursday is going to be a blustery beast! Partly sunny with a high of 25 degrees Fahrenheit and northwest winds hitting 17 to 20 miles per hour. Wind gusts could reach a wild 41 miles per hour, so hold onto your hats, literally!
Thursday night will be partly cloudy with temperatures dropping to a teeth-chattering 12 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind chill could feel as low as negative 3 degrees.
The weekend looks a bit more promising. Friday brings sunshine and a high near 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Saturday warms up to 48 degrees, and Sunday peaks at a pleasant 50 degrees.
