Good morning, weather watchers! This is your local meteorologist coming to you with a chilly forecast for Carter Lake, Iowa.
We're looking at a rollercoaster of winter weather that'll keep you on your toes. Tonight, expect a mostly cloudy sky with temperatures holding steady around 12 degrees. Those south southeast winds will be dancing at around 11 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 20 miles per hour.
Friday's going to be a mixed bag of winter tricks. There's a 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before 3 in the afternoon. We might see some patchy blowing snow between noon and 4 PM. Temperatures will climb to a brisk 34 degrees, with winds howling from the south southeast at 13 to 20 miles per hour. Hold onto your hats - those gusts could hit 39 miles per hour!
Friday night gets even more interesting. We're looking at a potential weather cocktail - a slight chance of drizzle, maybe some freezing rain, and then snow likely after 1 in the morning. Temperatures will drop to around 24 degrees.
The weekend continues the winter drama. Saturday brings a chance of snow and freezing rain, with temperatures struggling to reach 26 degrees. Sunday looks slightly more cheerful with mostly sunny skies, but don't get too excited - the high will only be a mere 12 degrees.
Things get seriously cold early next week. Washington's Birthday forecast? Snow likely, with temperatures barely scraping 7 degrees. Monday and Tuesday will continue the deep freeze, with temperatures dipping to negative 9 degrees.
