In this edition of Weather or Not, Lee Goldberg tracks Hurricane Milton which rapidly intensified from a Category 1 storm to a Category 5 in less than 12 hours on Monday.

The powerful storm, which churned with 180 mph winds at one point, could bring dangerous storm surge to parts of Florida, especially central and northern parts.

Storm surge could reach as high as 10-15 feet in some areas, and a tornado threat can't be ruled out.

Lee says landfall is expected sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

On Wednesday there will be cloudy skies then after a cool morning it will warm up into the high 60s later in the day. Limited sunshine with a few breaks at times.

Partly sunny Thursday in the mid 70s.

Then Friday night showers are possible into Saturday morning.

Saturday could be our warmest day in the high 70s. Any showers would hold off until Sunday into Monday.

Clouds will mostly dominate with a few breaks on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Showers during the evening hours on Wednesday are possible.

Then on Thursday and Friday, there will be some October sunshine Temperatures warm up on Friday in the high 70s.

Helene's showers could have an impact on our weekend, but will it be a washout?

In this edition of Weather or Not, Lee Goldberg tracks a weakened Helene, now a post-tropical storm, and its impact in the south and our area.

Lee says we could see scattered showers Saturday, especially south and west of the city, but they will diminish by Sunday.

Sunshine will be in short supply for the next few days with a couple of showers on Thursday and a stray shower south on Friday.

The rounds of rain will come as two fronts come through the area. The first warm front Wednesday afternoon and evening will bring widespread rain and then a cold front late day Thursday and Thursday evening will bring more showers. 

Helene is expected to become a major hurricane on Wednesday as it approaches Florida.

As we go into the weekend remnants of Helene will stay to the south and we will establish another dry streak will start Friday into early next week.

Our first rain in weeks is on the way, but will we see any drops on Tuesday?
