After a lull in the tropics, activity is slowly beginning to brew in the Atlantic. The first half of July was dominated by scorching heat and an increasing drought for Delmarva, but a shift in the overall pattern has brought a reversal to these trends. They also dissect the setup that brought a small tornado risk to the area on Monday night which prompted a tornado warning for some of the Delaware beaches.

Chief Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek and Meteorologist Erich Ahlf talk about how sea breezes, especially from the Atlantic side, can act like mini cold fronts and trigger showers and storms on sunny and hot days. With a dry spring thus far, these storms become more critical to the water table across the peninsula in the hotter weeks ahead.
