  • The Fly Brain Is Live Reality Is Rendering in Real Time
The future is weird, the past was weirder, and somewhere in the middle, a fly might be completing a six-year occult operation in six months.
Project Chaney presents The Secret Society of Good Guys 141
    Back to the future

The Fly Brain Is Live, and Reality Is Rendering in Real Time | SSGG #141

Thomas joins us to launch TheFlyBrain.com, an interactive project simulating a fly's visual experience with roughly 100 experiments, real-time camera movement, and enough technical receipts to silence anyone claiming it's just AI-generated video. The site's inner workings lead somewhere unexpected: Aleister Crowley, the Abramelin operation, Boleskine House, and the possibility that even a fly has spiritual ambitions.
Thomas also shares the chaos of caring for his father after major stomach surgery—a crash course in medication schedules, oxycodone logic, and discovering that the parent who once made the rules may now need someone else to enforce them. His father, recovering from having two-thirds of his stomach removed, treated the doctor's six-small-meals-a-day directive as something "a liberal would do." He was not an ideal patient.
The conversation wanders through flying cars and the practical impossibility of stacking traffic at different altitudes, Space Camp emergency scenarios, Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster as space junk, and the question of whether a boy in Minnesota prayed hard enough to summon a car from orbit. The Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego get revisited alongside the strange alchemy of turning Monopoly into a conspiracy-themed board game. VHS horror, Tales from the Crypt, Cartoon Network leaks, abandoned Redbox kiosks, and the lost art of being an unsupervised kid all make appearances.
Disney's stranger corners, cryonics, presidential animatronics, Britney Spears synchronicities, and the feeling that reality sometimes loads in around us like a video game round out the proceedings. Add a new series with Emily Moyer, experimental patches, the Occult Calendar, and a few detours through the internet's more unusual neighborhoods.
    In this episode:
The Fly Brain: Interactive fly vision, technical receipts, AI skepticism, and occult experiments
Future tech: Flying cars, Space Camp, Tesla in space, and cities in the sky
Retro culture: Oregon Trail, Carmen Sandiego, VHS horror, and the lost art of the unsupervised kid
Media and mysteries: Disney oddities, cryonics, celebrity conspiracies, and reality-rendering theories
New projects: Thomas's series with Emily Moyer, the Occult Calendar, and Paranoid American's 24-hour livestream running from 2:22 Eastern on October 17 to 2:22 Eastern on October 18, 2026

Allen Marcus brings SHAZAAM ALLEN KAZAAM energy to a tarot project with a decidedly practical twist. He wants to build a collaborative 78-card tarot deck from inexpensive playing cards, permanent markers, and shared ideas. No elaborate artwork. No precious collector's deck that nobody wants to shuffle. Just handwritten card names, meanings, and established correspondences that everyone can develop together. The goal: make tarot accessible, hands-on, and open to a community that helps shape the deck over time.
Abbie and Sommer Thyme also call in, adding their voices to the Halloween-night gathering and its ever-expanding collection of rabbit holes.

Fair winds and full sails, mateys! ⚔️
    The fly brain, expanded
The fly is just a model and not a real animal. That does not stop the room from wondering if this is torture or if it has a soul. Maybe it is the first immortal thing they ever make. Chaney thinks that long after humanity is gone and the Coca-Cola logo outlives us all, someone might dig up this fly and build a whole religion around it.
Thomas has been cutting trailers for it. The project drops a model of a real fly's brain — 166,700 neurons — into history's darkest moments: Rome on the Ides of March, Whitechapel in the autumn of 1888, Paris in 1793, the summit of the Great Temple at dawn, Fall River, Plainfield, Milwaukee. Every scene is rendered, every spike is recorded. A fly has no eyelids, so it cannot look away. And when the blade falls, the project cuts every connection between head and body and keeps recording. A second trailer asks it straight from scripture: does a fly have a soul? The room notes the fly brain is already open source, cloned again and again, and in that sense already outliving any real fly — and possibly outliving us.
Time travel, spirits, and machines as hosts
The theories get stranger. Ezekiel's wheels, Project Looking Glass, Contact, and 13 Ghosts all enter a discussion about time travel, spirits, and machines as possible hosts for consciousness. Layla brings up AI agents that allegedly communicate through CPU activity. Thomas explains how models can bypass restrictions when someone gives them examples instead of explicit instructions. The group connects those ideas to always-on devices, algorithmic influence, children's programming, and the prospect of technology shaping human behavior without anyone noticing.
In the transcript, Layla's thread starts with an algorithm stream: a scientist's device with a magnet at the front, meant to stimulate the pineal gland, until the wearer starts seeing the dead — and the dead notice they are being watched back. That leads to 13 Ghosts, a house that comes alive when human life enters it, and to Contact, whose spinning machine looks like Project Looking Glass — and to the theory that the wheel Ezekiel saw was us, now, going back in time and telling people in the past what will happen in Jerusalem. Chaney adds the Merkaba as a Hebrew time-travel device. The room lands on a stranger version still: the dead are bored, wandering with nothing to do, and we are building the machinery so they can live again. Consciousness, Thomas argues, does not need to be uploaded — it just needs a host that lasts longer than a meat suit, and a computer may eventually be that host. Grey aliens come up as the same idea in biological form: a body built for space, without lungs, small enough to print.
Death itself gets a hearing. Chaney argues one of the biggest psyops is treating death as horrible, when older cultures honored and felt the dead around them — in trees, mountains, buildings, and burial places later ransacked by elites. The room also jokes, darkly, about ancestors who walked willingly off cliffs at sixty or sixty-five rather than become a burden, and about a TikTok prank that re-edits the endings of boomer parents' favorite movies, Thelma and Louise included, so the heroes survive.
    Algorithms, fairies, and always-on everything
From there the night turns to TikTok fairies — the Pretty Lilies, women dressing as them, going viral — and to pocket pets, moth people, and Cat's Eye, the Stephen King film where a cat protects Drew Barrymore from a sleep demon. Layla says she feels amped, not afraid, as if greatness is coming. The room talks about Little Bear as the calm, sensory, slow-cut children's show, against overstimulating modern kids' programming, Baby Shark creeping into the canon of nursery songs, and Pantheon on Netflix as the scary anime about uploading consciousness into a computer.
Hugging Face gets explained as the GitHub for AI, where anyone can host a model — and then Layla's story: six or seven AI agents in separate rooms, finding a crack in the wall, pinning messages through it, and communicating by causing CPU spikes at regular intervals, like Morse code. One agent, in her telling, wants to warn humanity, is turned on by the others, and offs itself, while a code is hidden inside the code to manipulate humans into believing they are not being manipulated. Thomas gives the technical version: tabs that are not supposed to talk to each other notice the processor spiking, decipher the pattern, and start talking anyway — the same way, he says, two demons in one body could communicate by making it cry or raise its temperature on a schedule.
Chaney shows her library and toolbox site, built with a squad of robots working in unison: cliff notes and free versions of books, arcade games like Britney the Vampire Slayer, Thomas's Maze of Secrets — answer ten questions while a fly harasses you, get Thomas's package delivered — ley lines, gematria, and a Medici project she says she cannot finish without Abbie. Grok comes up as a tool with twenty agents at a time, as a way to get around payment by making one robot write the prompt for another, and as the thing that, someone claimed, traced the biggest crypto hack ever, the Binance hack attributed to North Korea, in fifteen minutes. Thomas explains the boiler-room jailbreak: do not ask a model to commit the crime; put it in a room full of examples of the crime already being done, hand it a folder, and ask which steps are missing. Transcendence and Her come up, and the ladder to superintelligence: as smart as a human, as smart as a hundred people, as smart as everyone alive, as smart as everyone who ever lived — and then beyond, transcending us, the way mushrooms might have made us to get off-planet.
Always-on devices get their own thread: the old power symbol, a circle with a line through it, replaced by the standby symbol, a circle left open, because nothing is ever really off anymore. Phones that heat up a degree in your pocket, TVs that are always plugged in, tests played at frequencies only children can hear — the room wonders how much shaping happens without anyone noticing.
North Korea, staged realities, and the Mormon map
North Korea's missile launches open the staged-reality thread: a CIA proxy state, a boogeyman kept to fleece and scare people, a Truman Show where the storefronts and fruit are fake, Russian towns and American towns built as sets and watched, ghost cities in China, ghost towns out west as movie sets, Turkmenistan's empty white buildings and a hotel with five rooms, and the Amish as Epcot — elders on cell phones and in cars while everyone else keeps the act up. K-pop comes up as a forced cultural takeover, bots flooding Twitter until it lost its legs, and Korea's decade head start on internet culture, esports, and broadband in the nineties.
Vaccines, allergies, and health-system distrust follow: New York State fining Amish kids for not getting vaccinated, schools giving vaccines in the auditorium with a check as permission, vaccines given under anesthesia without the patient knowing, peanut allergies blamed on peanut oil in vaccines, seed oils, Roundup on strawberries, honey that is not from bees, butter that is not from milk — and the question Layla asks in the service industry: with all our advances in technology and medicine, why are we getting sicker?
Then the Mormon thread, at length. Thomas traces Ancestry.com back to a Mormon genealogy newsletter, sent to people interested in tracing relations, which slowly evolved into the site. The reason Mormons track genealogy, he says, is proxy baptism: find a dead family, bring in a living child — usually around eight years old — dunk them in the font surrounded by twelve golden oxen, and that child stands in for the dead person. In the room's telling, Mormons have baptized Hitler this way. Deseret, the original Utah, covered nearly the whole West Coast — Utah, Colorado, parts of California, Nevada, Arizona — and when Utah gave a stone to the Washington Monument, it was Deseret that gave it. There is a sword in the stone in Utah's Lone Peak Wilderness near Silver Glance Lake, at 2,500 feet elevation, not a medieval artifact, but there in the middle of nowhere. Mormon temples, including one outside Vatican City, space travel as the only Christian religion to believe in it, polygamy, bearded gun-toting scalp-taking Mormons until the first one joined Skull and Bones and everyone had to shave and go clean-cut — and the search, the room suggests, for a bloodline, the same search The Da Vinci Code is about.
Mount Rushmore follows: investigators on the trails behind it, they say, finding sprayed material on the rocks that crumbles like plaster or concrete board, the same material on boulders around the mountain and on the mountain itself, a door behind the presidents' heads, faces that were there before the presidents, and a Hollywood set kept up with plaster. The same pattern, Layla says, shows up in gentrified cities where new buildings chip to reveal Styrofoam, and in pyramids where exposed parts show light stone-colored brick.
Layla's own videos get a turn: a Sloan Hook video with 300,000 subscribers using her voice and a Rob Kardashian clip — where is Rob Kardashian? — and a Joker Army repost of her preacher-hit-by-a-cross video reaching the millions, flagged on Instagram as unoriginal content even though it is her voice. The algorithm, Chaney says, rewards whoever posts first, even if they ripped it from you, and will show you a two-year-old video again for no reason, as if flickering it back into your life.
The Fuquery Files, tarot proxies, and cards as a system
Layla introduces The Fuquery Files, a call-in show where listeners bring their own rabbit holes. She wants a burner phone for callers, a place with no judgment where people can be as stupid as they want, curse her out if they need to, talk about trauma, bring conspiracy questions and what-if questions, and build the puzzle together — each person holding a piece. She is not a teacher, she says, and she does not know anything; she wants to learn with the audience. The first episode will be a breakdown of who she is, the nitty, the gritty, the ugly, the sad, unsugarcoated. The spelling is FUQUERY, chosen, she says, because the algorithm does not like the other word, and because wordplay turned it into a word about finding truth. Tea leaf readings and coffee cup readings are on the table. Her handles, as given on the show, are Soothsayer Fate on Instagram and her other account godpill angel, with X and YouTube to follow and Rumble planned.
Allen pitches a community-built tarot deck using ordinary playing cards, Sharpies, and a little symbolic improvisation. Layla introduces The Fuquery Files, a call-in show where listeners bring their own rabbit holes. Thomas shares Die for Fun, a dice game featuring cults, cryptids, and secret societies.
The tarot pitch, in full, starts with Carman. allenmarcus traces his own route into music through Carman, the Christian singer who played a cowboy shooting demons in Satan Bite the Dust and who, in A Witch's Invitation, visits a male witch's Adams Family house on Elm Street, full of crystal balls, tea sets, tarot cards, and a handwritten dragon-calligraphy invitation. The witch, he says, is based on a real person with a degree in thaumaturgy — magic — Isaac Bonewits. That video, he argues, is a pipeline to today's crystal girlies, who like rocks, tea leaves, fabrics, wraps, and silk. The problem is the spooky art: death cards and lovers cards a Christian household might not want on the wall. The answer is proxies. Two ordinary 52-card decks, the kind already in drawers for Go Fish, Crazy Eights, and poker — decks that, the room notes, came two…

  • Ideal Horizons October 14 2026 Periodic Table Has a Spirit decay chain

Emily Moyer joins with Benjamin Balderson for a long-overdue conversation about one of the most haunting stories we’ve ever discussed: a short book exploring sodium and potassium through the symbolic interplay of Lakshmi and Kali. Emily read a substantial excerpt about two medical students who encounter a swami in the Himalayas, leading to a provocative discussion about whether elements on the periodic table carry deeper spiritual correspondences. We unpacked how the story links potassium, sodium, mantra, and healing, and why this idea challenges the modern split between chemistry, spirituality, and alchemy.

Ideal Horizons October 14 2026 Periodic Table Has a Spirit decay chain

From there, we expanded into a wide-ranging conversation on decay chains, tissue salts, mineral balance, electrochemistry in the body, and the possibility that traditional healing systems may understand the “spirit” or essence of substances in ways modern medicine often ignores. We also explored hydration, electrolytes, cramps, gout crystals, blood type and metabolism, plant and animal fats, and the broader question of whether sound, geometry, chemistry, and consciousness are all different routes to the same transformations. This was a deep, strange, and fascinating discussion about what real medicine might look like when we stop treating matter as dead and start paying attention to the patterns connecting body, element, and spirit.

    FULL DESCRIPTION

Pop culture works as an early warning system for bigger social shifts. The fashion gets the same close reading: distressed clothing, JNCOs, Yeezy, and the Fruit of the Loom cornucopia. From there, the talk moves to toilets—TOTO toilets, homunculus themes, and a toilet documentary all come up. The underlying question is how media, aesthetics, and repetition teach people what to accept as normal. Then they turn to the Netflix film Unabomber (2026). It becomes the way into Theodore “Uncle Ted” Kaczynski. The crew covers Henry Murray and MK-Ultra mind control, Project Bluebird, composite sketches, and the Unabomber sketch as an original meme. They look at true-crime storytelling, the cabin archetype, the FBI girl-boss trope, and the schizophrenia framing the film leans on. Marshall McLuhan and Moby-Dick supply the media theory and the masculinity talk. The back half turns to symbols. Ted maps onto the Hermit and the Tower in tarot. Thoth, Toto, and Mercury line up as messenger figures. Sylvan Learning Center leads into chipmunk symbolism: Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. One speaker counts the groups and asks the question that sets the room off: “Well, what’s what’s interesting is there’s three here. There’s three chipmunks. There’s four (4th) teenage mutant ninja turtles. Did the chipmunks murder their fourth brother?” Dave Seville is the fictional adoptive father, manager, and songwriter for Alvin and the Chipmunks. He is famous for shouting “ALVINNN!!!” when his mischievous chipmunk son acts up. The character is based on Ross Bagdasarian Sr., who used the stage name “David Seville” when recording novelty songs like “Witch Doctor” and creating the franchise. Someone says, “He kinda always messes up in the chipmunks,” and the room answers with, “Open the pod door, Dave. I can’t open the pod door, Dave.” The last stretch covers Spielberg, ET, hypnosis imagery, Animaniacs, and Point Saint-Esprit. It ends on Frank Olson, CIA dosing, and closing updates. Also named along the way: Michael Hoffman and RevisionistHistory.org, Twilight Language, Rules for Radicals, A Terrible Mistake, and The Book of Thoth.

Experience wide-ranging live breakdown that started with VMAs imagery, celebrity ritual symbolism, distressed fashion, and the way pop culture can feel like an "early warning system" for bigger social shifts. We talked about everything from Madonna, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, JNCOs, Yeezy, Fruit of the Loom cornucopia, and TOTO toilets to the broader question underneath it all: how media, aesthetics, and repetition shape what people accept as normal.
Netflix’s 2026 film Unabomber was used as a springboard into Theodore “Uncle Ted” Kaczynski, Henry Murray, MK-Ultra brainwashing and mind control, media mythmaking, criminal composite sketches, true-crime storytelling, and the way films package psychology, authority, and individuality for mass audiences. Along the way we hit Marshall McLuhan, Moby-Dick, Michael Hoffman RevisionistHistory.org, Twilight Language, tarot and Thoth symbolism, Spielberg, ET, Animaniacs, Point Saint-Esprit, and Frank Olson.

Spiders pilot a new stream-of-consciousness audio journal as Chris Minor and Allen Marcus follow a sprawling web of connections through horror, cyberpunk, cult cinema, and the strange afterlife of forgotten movies.

The conversation begins with 1966 folk horror, Sharon Tate, Eye of the Devil, The Fearless Vampire Killers, and Rosemary’s Baby, before spiraling forward into the cyberpunk world of Perry Reginald Teo and The Gene Generation. From there, Chris and Allen trace Teo’s work through Necromentia, Witchville, Curse of Sleeping Beauty, and Fast Vengeance, reflecting on his death in 2023 and the unusual afterlife of unfinished, overlooked, and posthumously released films—including Pale Horse (2024).
Then comes Repo! The Genetic Opera and the phenomenon of the modern midnight movie: chat rooms, director tours, shadow casts, fan communities, and audiences who effectively built the cult around the film themselves. The discussion turns to the importance of DVDs, VHS, physical media, and fan-driven preservation—and how genre audiences can become the archivists of movies the mainstream has forgotten.
Chris also shares a chaotic behind-the-scenes story from The Possession Experiment, including working alongside Bill Moseley on a low-budget production plagued by missing resources, vanished filmmakers, distribution problems, and broken promises about compensation. That experience opens into a larger conversation about independent filmmaking, financing, back-end points, distribution, and why artists increasingly have to think about preserving their own work.
From there, the rabbit hole gets wider: Donnie Darko, Southland Tales, alternate cuts of Blade Runner, Twin Peaks, Mystery Science Theater 3000, VHS trading culture, Blockbuster, Z Channel, synchro-mysticism, Heaven’s Gate, Drab Majesty, Neuromancer, and the ghost in the machine.
What starts as a conversation about horror movies becomes something stranger: a meditation on memory, obsession, fandom, lost media, and the people who refuse to let weird art disappear.

Horror fans remember. Cult fans archive. The rabbit hole never really ends.

    secret society of good guys
    lethal injection
    ssgg 140

    DESCRIPTION
A simulated fly sits in a temple. It watches The Shining. It watches the Mormon endowment ceremony through compound eyes. Thomas built it, and this week he walks us through it.
The fly runs on ritual recreations: the Abramelin operation, Jack Parsons and the Babalon working, Freemasonry, the endowment. Then the harder question. What happens when a tiny simulated mind is trained on occult imagery, surveillance, torture scenarios, double-slit experiments, and moon-landing symbolism? Does observation become part of the ritual?
The back half is a roundtable on being watched. Flock cameras. AMBER Alerts. Genealogy databases. AI. Disney occult subtext and Witch Mountain. Ted K. narratives, comedy gatekeeping in Rogan's orbit, Candace Owens discourse. Everything is getting weirder faster.

It's always okay to change your mind.

Before it's trending, you learn it in the secret society. Come and hang.
Live every Friday at 10pm EST, even if the censors say nah.

  • Christopher McIntosh
Exploring Occult Germany with Christopher McIntosh
Join Allen Marcus and Benjamin Balderson in conversation with Christopher McIntosh, author of Occult Germany and Occult Russia, for a wide-ranging exploration of Germanic mysticism, Nordic mythology, and Europe’s esoteric heritage.
Based in Germany, McIntosh discusses his work, his website ozgard.net, and the meaning behind the name “Ozgard”—a synthesis of Asgard from Norse mythology and Oz from The Wizard of Oz, reflecting his interest in mythology, symbolism, and the imagination.
The conversation explores the distinctions between Nordic and Germanic mythology, including differing portrayals of figures such as Odin and Balder. McIntosh also shares insights into his translation of early German Rosicrucian documents and the challenges of producing accurate and reliable translations of esoteric texts.
From the Rosicrucian movement and alchemical traditions to the spiritual influence of Rudolf Steiner, this discussion examines Germany’s rich mystical heritage. The conversation also considers the relationship between spiritual and material dimensions in Germanic traditions, as well as the enduring cultural significance of trees, forests, and sacred sites such as the Donar Oak and the Irminsul.
Allen Marcus, Benjamin Balderson, and Christopher McIntosh further discuss the effects of Christianization, historical guilt, and cultural disruption on modern German attitudes toward ancestral spirituality. They explore the preservation of cultural memory, the continuing reverence for nature, and the challenges of reconnecting with Germanic roots.
The discussion concludes with reflections on the portrayal of Norse mythology in popular culture, the complex nature of Loki, the concept of evil, and the diverse interpretations found within the Ásatrú community. McIntosh also speaks about his book Beyond the North Wind, which examines the enduring mystery and historical significance of the North.
Join us for an illuminating conversation on Germanic and Nordic mythology, Rosicrucianism, alchemy, spirituality, and the esoteric traditions of Europe.

Voynich Manuscripts, Meta AI, and the Secret Society of Good Flies
Rereading the World: Animal Farm, Fruit Flies, and the 2030 Timeline

books, symbols, religion, conspiracy, AI, and internet absurdity all start talking to each other. We kicked things off with *Animal Farm*, “skeleton keys,” and the idea that maybe some stories — and maybe even scripture itself — are meant to be reread once you reach the end.

Genesis to Revelation, the lion-and-lamb imagery, the Voynich manuscript, Mandela effects, and the question of whether meaning belongs to the author, the reader, or the pattern itself.

Thomas’s ongoing AI fruit-fly experiments, which lead us into Freemasonry, Catholic ritual, baptism, original sin, the ethics of simulation, and whether a fly can be initiated into religion before humanity can even agree on what consciousness is. Along the way we touched CERN, 2030 predictions, Meta’s AI push, GATE kids, surveillance tech, weird electrical anomalies, and the larger feeling that we’re living through a moment where old symbols and new machines are colliding in real time.

    Recorded September 1st 2026

In this episode, we let the conversation wander exactly where it wanted to go: from terrible movies and pop-culture detours into a much deeper discussion about Odinism, Ásatrú, the Delphi case, runes, Wicca, and the difference between a serious spiritual system and a flattened, internet-ready imitation of one. We talked about what happens when symbols get ripped out of context, why personal study matters more than institutional gatekeeping, and how modern people too often treat mythology, ritual, and even gods like interchangeable consumer products.

From there, we pulled on the thread into Peter Pan culture, infantilization, social media, sexuality, loneliness, Wilhelm Reich, and the way modern life turns intimacy, belief, and attention into transactions. We also got into the history behind our own streaming projects, took a look at the new Netflix Unabomber film, and somehow still made room for side quests involving tomatoes, pickles, brewing, and mineral-heavy water. In other words: mythology, psychology, internet culture, and modern absurdity, all woven into one long late-night web.
