Sometimes starting with a simple "Happy Birthday" can lead to an extended conversation about civility, society, the uncertainty of the future and our own mortality.  Sometimes it leads to thoughts on jobs, leadership, mentoring and dietary and exercise choices of middle-aged persons.  This time it was both.
