Sometimes you sit down with the intention of doing something fun and light, but it's just not possible due to the circumstances surrounding you.  In this episode, Jorge and Trent try to assess how we handle the overload of madness swirling through life.  

Believe it or not...there's a lot of wisdom and a tiny bit of wit to be mined here.

Work relationships are real.  They're not romantic, but they're important and part of the fulfillment we desire from our professional life.  Navigating the different work dynamics can be challenging, but sometimes you've just got to smile and do your best to hold in your negative emotions.  Jorge is quite good at all of this, while Trent is...not so much.

Maybe talking thru these things can help!  It did for us.

Once Trent got this title in his head he couldn't shake it...so it stuck.  An episode devoted primarily to being your own health advocate.  Building good habits is at the heart of improving and maintaining your health.  There's also a fun bit in here about wine.

It all starts out so chill with a talk about buying gifts, and before you know it, the guys are deep into the rabbit hole of "trusted sources" and the inelegance of what passes for debate these days.

Can you trust information right now?  Will it get worse in the future?

It's time to talk TURKEY!!!  Jorge and Trent get into the holiday spirit and discuss Thanksgiving, the season, a little Christmas, retirement job planning, a funny kid, and Trent's two settings.  Plus, the first "things we're working on being thankful for" segment. 

A fun one, that children shouldn't partake in due to certain jolly fat man content. 

Learning to play guitar, the origin of Trent's ska band in the 90s, and the staying power of Frank Sinatra kick things off.  Jorge shares thoughts on turning 40 while Trent explains his changed stance on celebrating milestones.  Then comes the regret...or at least a discussion on what regret means and how to avoid it. 

Also featuring an extended discussion on community and public spaces.

Sometimes starting with a simple "Happy Birthday" can lead to an extended conversation about civility, society, the uncertainty of the future and our own mortality.  Sometimes it leads to thoughts on jobs, leadership, mentoring and dietary and exercise choices of middle-aged persons.  This time it was both.

Believe it or not...this is how we actually talk to each other all the time.

On location in Jorge's dining room, this is our Halloween Special.  An interesting discussion brought about by the sign-off Trent uses on his solo podcast TrentTakesOn 2.0 "Be Good Humans".  We discuss just what that means.  

Then we talk fear...not of monsters and ghosts, but big picture fears.  Finally we wrap it up with talk of management vs. leadership, and the importance of process vs. product.

At what point do we go from letting go of the little stuff to actual intervention?  

A surprisingly large amount of parenting discussion leads to more and more questions...and Trent actually realized he has no idea what it's like to be an only child and what that means to one's psyche.

Oh...and what role does AI and social media play in our lives...just a light-hearted jam on chill topics.  (Seriously, we kept it light!)
