In today’s session, Uitzash wakes up from being unconscious after the Redbrand fight back in Session 04. She hunts down the rest of the party and finds out what they’ve been up to since she’s been out of action. Once they fill her in, they find out that she’s surprisingly OK with this whole situation!

There’s still some pretty macabre jokes in this episode since we’re dealing with the aftermath of the “Dinner Service” incident, but the jokes aren’t nearly so dark as they were previously. The content warning is still in effect but it’s definitely toned down from where we were in last week’s episode.

In today’s service… I mean Session… the characters enact their plan to attack and kill the Red Brands. With food! It’s a delicious plan that’s executed with a sumptuous amount of spicy jokes and laughs! I loved this sequence; it was very fun to play out and I hope that you guys enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed playing it out.

A quick content warning for this episode: casual discussion of murder, casual depiction a murder scene, and raucous comedy/jokes surrounding this content.

The characters in this series are decidedly not good people but the players have a small amount of dissonance with this situation and didn’t realize how easy it would be to casually kill a bunch of people all at once if they put their minds to it for a very short amount of time. None of the players or the DM had their feelings hurt by the discussion, nor was anybody angry at the table; we’re all having a great time because this is our table culture. If you take issue with speaking lightly about or casually making jokes about taking human life, then this might be a good episode to skip.

In today’s sessions, the characters deal with the immediate aftermath surrounding their confrontation with the Red Brands. They collect themselves, make preparations, and then begin to plan their retribution against their new foes! Their first task is to go to the Sleeping Giant Inn.

Also, please forgive a small issue with the audio quality. You can definitely hear one of the cast member’s children crying in the background of some of the recording and it was not possible to remove it during the edits. All of you parents out there know what it’s like to have teething babies in the house, this was the case for said child. Don’t be mad. Just take pity on the poor kid.

In today’s episode, the characters finish up their first adventure by figuring out how to carry all these Lion Shield branded boxes and then make their way into Phandalin! It’s a cozy little village built on the ruins of an older, and larger, mining operation. The mining still continues, but the prior denizens disappeared for some reason or other. Their first stop is to get paid and to upgrade some equipment, but not before getting into some inter-party intrigue and re-outfitting their new goblin companion Gebin!

This time our heroes track the goblins back to their lair which turned into a somewhat arduous journey. Upon their arrival they encounter… MORE GOBLINS! Who could have foreseen such a turn of events?!
