Despite getting just 2 1/3 combined innings from their starters in games one and two, the Red Sox are heading back to Boston with the ALDS series split at one apiece.
The Red Sox offense was scorching hot in their 14-6 victory, with impressive nights from J.D. Martinez, Kike Hernandez, and Alex Verdugo.
Tanner Houck may have been the saving grace for the Red Sox as he relieved Chris Sale, who only lasted one inning, allowing 5 earned runs. Houck threw 5 innings for the Sox, allowing just 2 hits, 1 earned run and striking out 5.
