Since 1957, the RI Civic Chorale and Orchestra "strives to ensure a growing and vibrant arts culture through participation, outreach, education and advocacy". Dr. Joshua W. Rohde joins us to promote this season's offerings of RICCO's interpretation of "Handel's Messiah". In November and December this event will be presented across RI and this season, including Block Island. He shares his enthusiasm for the classics and works by living composers as well. Listen as he describes the process in accepting new singers "everyone is welcome!". Even if Scott is a little "pitchy"

The Brown University football program (Brown Bears) is hosting their annual Bench Press for Cancer on campus. Two members of the team, Jack Connolly (OL) and Caleb Moorhead (LB), join Scott to provide details and reveal their motivation for participation. Brown football has hosted the event annually now for over two decades, starting back in 2004 to raise funds for team captain Lawrence Rubida ('05), who had been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma. Despite Lawrence's passing in 2005, his former teammates and those who followed have lived by his "never quit" mentality and carried on the event in his memory. They also confirm that a repeat participant from Brown's dining services, known as the "Ratty King", continues to compete. However, Brown Bear ('10) and former New England Patriot James Develin still holds the bench press record. BP4C has raised over $200,000, with all of the proceeds going directly to the Cancer Survivorship Programs at The Miriam Hospital in Providence. You can join in the fun on Monday, October 21 on the University's Main Green from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jon Meterperal (@meatstweets) and Coach Tim Welsh (@timwelsh5) wrap up this week’s show with another edition of what has intrigued us from the week that was. Coach is intrigued with an award PC received and the Presidents cup. Meter is intrigued with a hockey coach doing something nice for the father of Johnny and Matt Gaudreau.

Jon Meterperal (@meatstweets) and Coach Tim Welsh (@timwelsh5) thank Joe for producing the show for 3 years. It’s time for the Patriots to finally start Drake Maye. Tim doesn’t believe in the Patriots coaching staff. Mayo is all over the map.

Jon Meterperal (@meatstweets) and Coach Tim Welsh (@timwelsh5) start the second hour of the show talking to Sean McAdam (@Sean_McAdam) about the Red Sox season. The Sox have missed the playoffs for three straight seasons. This was yet another disappointing second half for the Red Sox. Right out of the All-Star break the Sox started to slip. If the Red Sox win today they will break even at 500. How can the Red Sox get back in the mix? Sean previews the MLB playoffs.
