In week 10, we look to Jesus exhortation on Fasting and one's pursuit of material possessions (ie.,Mammon). Fasting is not meant to be a gloomy spectacle but a joyous opportunity to gain greater clarity of kingdom vision and dependence on God. Our Heavenly Father cares deeply for us. He will provide all we need as we forego our dependance on the material.

At the end of the day, like a good optometrist Jesus is checking our gaze. Asking of us, "what is your focus in life? What do you value? Is it the need to be seen as religious or even the acquirement of wealth?

Pastor Andrew encourages us to see that Jesus is helping us to see kingdom vision with greater clarity, to value treasure stored up in heaven over earthly possessions.

The pursuit of material possessions are the 'things' of yard sales. When we die we cannot take it with us! You never see a Uhaul behind a hearse.

What do you treasure? Jesus calls out to us, "where your heart is there your treasure will be also."

You will be encouraged and stretched by this timely word on fasting and material possessions.
