A worthy pursuit is living according to the Lord’s will (5v17). The Apostle Paul taught the Ephesians the Lord’s will includes submitting to one another, out of reverence for Christ (5v21). This deep seeded conviction of respect for Jesus is held within the understanding as Christians we all have the same Master, our Lord Jesus Christ. We are under his authority, the name ‘above everything other name’. Our interactions with others and the varying aspects of those relationships are to flow out of this relationship with God, in Christ.

With this in mind we are empowered to obey our earthly master's and those with authority over us in the work place.
