"Turns out Moon Dude has a hidden power - his hugs create pocket dimensions. People can decompress there, and heal, and "save their game" (figure of moon speech, I guess). You can't stay there forever, but time seems to stop when you're in it anyway. And doesn't have to be a hug - that's just what works for him. A pat on the back, a kind word, even just a smile can make it happen.
He says everybody has this power."
- Flower Girl.
› premise‹ premise
In the Garland System, plant life is power. This system’s Earth was once overrun and radically terraformed by a catastrophic influx of hungry flora - the tragedy commonly called the Super Bloom. Now, elites across the Garland System conspire to trigger a Second Bloom: one which will wreak havoc far beyond Earth.
Their base of operations is none other than Flower Tower. And Flower Girl, determined to foil their plans, is running out of time to reach the top.

-{Flower Girl}-
(Visual Motif: florist, bird of paradise)
The Gravest Gardener. A vigilante living in hiding as the last human on Earth.
Reviled and blamed by most in the Garland System, herself included, for inadvertently triggered the original Super Bloom which doomed mankind. Determined to prevent history from repeating itself - even if she must change the course of history alone.
Sports a spiked ginger Mohawk and tattered summerwear of indigo and lime green. And phoenix wings - a cherished keepsake her sylphmancer mother.
Burns and respawns from her ashes when mortally wounded, along with any dormant plant life that lies in the seed bank below. Cannot truly be killed - but can be agitated.
Wields a spade and a watering can in battle. Does not mind getting up close and personal with her ill-fated aggressors.
-{Moon Dude}-
(Visual Motif: spaceman, starsister flower)
The Lunar Legend. A mercenary rumored to be the last living human on the moon.
Disarmingly carefree in even the most tense situations, but undyingly devoted those he holds dear - and to his home most of all. Entangled in an escalating battle against his arch nemesis, the Moon Baron, for the fate of the moon and the few who still live there.
Wears a spacesuit because plainwear looks stupid in space. Wears a crimson hoodie with gold accents over the spacesuit because spacesuits look stupid on earth. Perfectly dressed for any occasion.
Dual wields two halves of a flagpole he cut in half long ago because “nobody owns the moon.”

(Visual Motif: REDACTED)

-{The Garland System}-
Celestial bodies of the Garland System experience lifecycles in four stages: (1) frost (the initial ice age); (2) flood (the melting of the ice sheet into an endless ocean); (3) flora (the abundance of plant and animal life that emerges as the primary landmasses surface); and (4) flame (global wildfire, drought, and desertification - often occurring naturally but accelerated recklessly).
-{The Earth (Lifecycle Phase: Flora)}-
A planet decimated by ravenous plant life, its oceans and molten core devoured. Only a skeletal husk of interweaving geological formations remains, outlining the shape of the marble the planet once was. Pollen and potpourri litter the endless blue skies. Said to be inhospitable for all but sylphmancers due to inconsistent gravitational pulls.
-{The Sun (Lifecycle Phase: Flood)}-
A star sealed beneath a freshwater ocean, installed in a bygone age to counter an apocalyptic solar flare. Predominantly home to subsurface flora and fauna. No life can exist at depths too proximate to the original surface. Whales, mermancers and tropical islands occasionally breach for air.
-{The Moon (Lifecycle Phase: Flame)}-
A desert sphere in search of a new “parent” after breaking orbit with the ruined Earth. Salamancers and invasive plants reside near artificial aquifers filled with imported water.
-{The Comet (Lif_cycl_ Pha_e: Fr_st)}-
404 ERROR: PAGE NOT FOUND.
› logs:lifeforms‹ logs:lifeforms
-{Sylphmancers (current primary habitat: the earth)}-
Once classified as angels. Humanoids with wings modeled after all manner of bug, fish, bird, reptile, mammal, and beyond. Adept flyers whom alternate between riding the winds and becoming them.
-{Mermancers (current primary habitat: the sun)}-
Once classified as merfolk. Amphibious euryhalines. Piscine and humanoid features typically divide at the waist - with exceptions.
-{Salamancers (current primary habitat: the moon)}-
Sentient gel adapted to humanoid shape, behavior and interaction. Highly flammable, but considered impervious to fire due to rapid regenerative ability.
-{Gnomancers: (current primary habitat: n/a)}-
More commonly referred to as humans. The progenitors of all modern humanoid life forms in the Garland System. All but extinct.

It's a Save Room theme! Maybe it didn't make sense to make one four minutes long, but...eh. More time to hug. :D
So, this week the checklist for this project expanded. A bunch. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I really want this "soundtrack" to have its own character, and to reflect a variety of worlds of characters to match the flavor text and lore. Structurally, that's going to take more than just writing the bare minimum per category. But to keep things manageable, I'm treating the new checklist additions as stretch goals, not essentials. Completing the updated checklist would take thirty of the fifty-two weeks we've got, and there are other kinds of music I'd like to write this year.
Oh, and I'm ready to give this whole gosh darned thing a name:
"Gravest Gardener."
A plantpunk rpg.
It'll be a klutzy journey but I hope it can make people happy.
Happy Week 7 everybody!
