As we return to the Gospel of John, we see Jesus continue discussing with the gathered crowds. It is here that we begin to see the crowds reject Jesus because he isn't what they want him to be. Even in the face of rejection from his people, Christ never changes anything he says about salvation coming through Him alone. He adds to it and emphasizes the doctrine of election teaching us that we are utterly dependent on God for every single aspect of salvation.
