Margaret in Windsor, Ontario listens on AM800 CKLW and asked: "I'm not that "swift" with my computer. I need speakers for my computer. I would like to know which ones you would recommend because sometimes it's not that loud when I listen to YouTube or messages on my computer. Would love to know what you would recommend."

Margaret, your computer almost certainly has an audio output in the form of a headphone jack.

You could opt for Bluetooth speakers, WiFi speakers or any of thousands of different sophisticated and expensive speakers, but it sounds like all you’re really after is some volume.

If that’s it, if you’re not worried about the quality, or the ability to play something on your computer and walk away with the speaker to listen to it somewhere else, or anything like that, you might as well get some cheap generic speakers. For example, for $25 you can buy a Logitech set that includes a subwoofer on Amazon. The same kind of setup from Cyber Acoustics goes for $35.

If you don’t need wireless, shockproof, smart, or any of the other expensive features, you don’t really need to spend big money to get some louder volume out of your computer and any speaker that takes in audio from a 3.5mm jack will cost less these days and deliver what you need.
