James in Murfreesboro Tennessee listens on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN and asked: "What is the difference between computing and quantum computing, and is it really as big of a step forward as they are talking about?"

James, quantum computers are computers that run on principles of quantum mechanics like quantum entanglement.

If they are ever actually made to work, sure… it would be a big step up. Quantum mechanics is a very strange field and it involves things like thing not being defined until they’re observed, as in the observation changing them, and particles being connected somehow over large distances that can react to each other instantly.

Quantum computing is a whole new structure, Moore’s law would go out the window, but it doesn’t really matter until it can be made to work, and until it can be made affordable. Neither of those is anywhere in the horizon at the moment. Not even far, far away.

Without being too dark, without a WW3 to force a technology push at all costs, don’t count on quantum computing in your lifetime.

Roger in Fairbanks, Alaska listens on 970AM KFBX and asked: "I have digital photos in Microsoft OneDrive, Google Photos, Apple iCloud and there's probably two or three other places. Also a hard drive. Is there a product that or something so I can get them all in one place? I'm technical, but my wife is not, so I need to have a "non-technical solution" of possible."

Roger, if you have all of those then you probably have a computer, and that or a smartphone are really the only products that you can really count on to pull pictures from all of those sources.

If you’re asking if there’s a digital picture frame, or a TV stick that can display all of those in one place, you won’t find anything like that.

Your best bet may be to use most of those as backup, and upload there as you are now, but use a single one as the main repository to show off your pictures.

Normally we’d say that it seems like that would be a lot of work, but you’re already doing it. The only difference would be to pick one of those services or devices to be the master copy you’ll use to display your pictures, and make sure that whichever service or device you update, you update that one too.

Unfortunately, you won’t find anything that will easily consolidate all those libraries on its own. The main reason for that is that almost no one uses them all like you do, so there really isn’t much of a market.
