So I need to hide my order history and my browsing history I guess, to keep her from knowing what she’s getting for Christmas.”

Greg, hiding your browsing history on Amazon is relatively easy, but keep in mind that other sites won’t offer the same tools Amazon does.

If you’re shopping on other sites, it may be smart to use some kind of private browsing mode like Chrome’s incognito mode and to stay logged off unless you know you’re going to buy.

Another easy way around this problem may be to just browse from your phone or any other personal device that the person receiving the gift is less likely to use, but keep in mind that being logged in will still probably cause your gift browsing history to be sync with the site you’re using.

You asked about Amazon, though, and Amazon does let you edit your browsing history.

The first step is to go to the site and log in as you normally would if you wanted to shop for gifts, no special URL required. You’ll be able to see a “Browsing History” link below the search bar on the main page.

Unfortunately, it gets a little bit annoying from this point forward because you’ll have to click into that link, then manually click on every item that you want to remove from your browsing history one by one.

It should be pretty obvious how to do that, you will see 2 buttons below the items, one of them will offer to remove the item from view.
