This weekend, we looked at the life of King Josiah from the Old Testament and Philip from the New Testament. These are two totally different people, in completely different times in the Bible who both have taught us that we can glorify God through reading, obeying and preaching God’s Word.

This weekend, we kicked off week 2 of our series, “Forever Glory,” where we’ve been discussing what it means to bring God glory and how we can bring glory and honor to God in all that we do. 

This weekend, we talked about Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron. She’s recognized as the first female prophet in the old testament! From the life of Miriam, we learned that we can show Jesus we love him, no matter the circumstances! 

In services this weekend, we learned that Jesus is a friend to the outcast. We learned all about the first people to be told about the birth of Jesus. It wasn’t kings or princes, or the richest people in the land who first told about Jesus.. But it was the shepherds out in the field.

This weekend, we looked at the redemptive power of God displayed in how he sent Jesus to save us and then in some of the miracles that Jesus performed in the New Testament! We learned that we can have faith for miracles and that God can redeem ANY situation.

By looking at the way King Herod reacted to the report about the birth of baby Jesus, we learned that no one can steal our joy! Since God is with us, we get to have a joyful heart, despite what may be happening around us.

Jesus came to this world, as a baby wrapped in a manger, to be the light of the world! He came so that we could have a relationship with God forever and an abundant life in him. This weekend, we learned that Jesus has invited all of us to partner with him in sharing his light to the whole world!

This weekend, we learned that God is a promise keeper. God promised his people a long time ago that He would send a Messiah, his son, Jesus Christ to this world for all of us! Through the promise of Jesus, we know that God can be trusted.

We just completed the last week of our series, “Called,” where we’ve been discovering what The Great Commission is and our part in it! We learned that we don’t have to be a missionary overseas to be impactful for the gospel but we can live on mission today... HERE!

By looking at Paul’s missionary journey throughout the New Testament, we learned that we have a part to play in spreading the message of salvation to the WHOLE world. There are some people who have never heard the name of Jesus!
