    BY STORM

    NEUROSIS

    CONVERGE (again)

    OM (again)

I just heard some ad that played some "contemporary" cover of All Night Long by Lionel Richie, and I gotta say that one's on that list of songs that you really just shouldn't cover. It's not the most offensive one I've heard though. Some YouTube "cooking music" playlist I tried out one day had a coffeehouse style cover of Jamming by Bob Marley, which should have been cause for jail time, no parole, and I don't even really believe in prisons like that.

Post-late-work, post-too-much-caffeine, post-one-Belgian-tripel, we dub our first dub in a while. It's about what you would expect.

Shoutout of course to The People, you know we give it back to you.

  • WDB 118) "Not Hot Ones!" The Dub (with Special Guest T-Money) Give Their Reviews from the Hot Seat!!

Ten wings. Ten takes. The takes get spicier as the wings do (or should).

Da Bomb at 2 hours and 59 minutes, if you wanna skip to it. If the AI doesn't auto-create that as the promo clip it's useless.

Special shoutout to the band Gale Bird! Haven't had time to listen to them yet, but we hadn't even reviewed them and they got in contact with the dub, which we appreciate. You know we do it for the people here. They seem like cool people, check em out when you have time.

  • WDB 116) The Dub 2025: We Made It!

Couldn't ask for a better guest to close the year out than Sam, couldn't ask for a better listener than you, and I mean that hyper-specifically.

Special thanks to the artists who released music we loved, the artists who released music we hated, and the artists who released music we never got around to listening to, because creating things is difficult and frustrating and exposing those creations to strangers on the internet likely to shit on them takes some honest courage these days. It's all love.

About Weekly Drive-By

From the publisher's feed

The Weekly Drive-By is a music review podcast hosted by two friends who've known each other for about a decade now. The first half of the show is usually free discussion with nothing out of bounds, and the second half is built around reviews of new(ish) LPs and EPs that are either trending in the online music community or unknown picks we'd like to let people know about. We don't take ourselves too seriously, and you probably shouldn't either.
