The week of November 10–14, should have been a champagne-popping celebration on Wall Street. After all, the record 43-day federal government shutdown finally concluded on Wednesday. Yet, instead of sustaining the relief rally that opened the week, markets quickly suffered a painful, sharp reversal mid-week, culminating in Wall Street's worst day in over a month on Thursday.
