Jesus explains to the 12 in great detail what God’s plan for the Messiah is: he will be rejected, killed and 3 days later raised. The implications for the 12, and for all who will follow Jesus are sever, they too must give up their lives. However, in view of what they receive, it ought to be a small, pleasing one to give.
