The attacks on human rights do go on all across the Mediterranean: not only sea rescue NGOs are targeted, but also the civic rights of women are constantly being limited. After Turkey and its (EU-tolerated) withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, Egypt has recently decided to further curb women's autonomy and make them dependent on a male guardian.

Last week the entire world was shaken by tragic attacks: from Boulder and Vancouver to Mozambique and Indonesia - while Europe is struggling to come to terms with its own tormented past: 22 years since the Kosovo war and still no acknowledgement of the crimes by Serbia.
