Living in a fallen world, filled with fallen people, we all suffer at the hands of other people. No one is immune to the pain.

Lust is a craving unhinged from Christ that we foster and feed, which rises up and contends against the allegiance of our hearts to God.

Letting envy linger in us and allowing it to grow in our hearts leads to spiritual, emotional, and physical destruction and death.

It is impossible to enter the kingdom of God through religion or through prideful accomplishment. We have nothing to offer God except our sin and life, and yet, he graciously saves us and gives us a new life when we humbly surrender to him.

The tables are set; the invitation extended. Who will you listen to—Folly or Wisdom?

Jesus wants to bring hope to every area of your life. He wants you to know and understand his wise counsel regarding every aspect of your life, and live under his rule and reign in peace.

Proverbs is written to dissuade his son and others from walking down the same foolish pathways of destruction that Solomon walked. This seems probable in light of Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.

God’s inexhaustible wisdom is evident in creation—evident in creation’s vastness and in its minuscule details. Proverbs points out that with wisdom we can learn God’s order in creation and live by it wisely.

We are all broken people with different weaknesses. Our calling is to love and share the hope that exists in Christ.

Like the other gospel-centered books of the Bible, Solomon instructs his son to allow his heart to be transformed by God and his word.
