In Ephesians 6 Paul is calling the church to action in its spiritual battles against the spiritual forces of evil. He is calling us to armor ourselves with the armor of God, which, as we saw last week, is to put on Christ. This morning we want to explore being dressed for battle, and even before being dressed in the armor being prepared to dress for battle.

This morning we will begin to explore this passage, looking at vv.10-13 and as we ask the question, “Why is life so hard”? How do we live out our being the new humanity in Christ, engaging in spiritual battle?

The Church is God’s new society and within God’s new society there is a divine order. He has ordered a relational structure within His new society. Within God’s new society every category of people (husbands and wives, parents and children, workers and bosses) have responsibilities and obligations. Embracing your calling within God’s new society is part of living a Spirit-filled life. This morning’s sermon explores how we go about embracing our calling and to that end we will explore three things.
