low on time and energy this week

had a lovely bed in with jwh & a couple of ukuleles

for my offering:

*i recorded 3 or 4 live takes off the laptop mic

*i took the best take i could - chopping wasn't lining up so this is one take warts and all

*i tripled that one track keeping 1 basic, 1 with echo, 1 with delay

*josh had set up a casio in another room - somehow that was playing a note through an amp? (did you tape that key down jwh?) the whole time we were recording - it was a cool drone but it got really weird in the mix when i started adding effects

*so i added 1 musical typing synth track (crystal spheres) drone to kinda tie that into the mix

*mixed the piece, fussed with the eq, & put a tape compression on the master track

i love the lyrics and melody jwh wrote for this & appreciate that jwh had an idea as i was really out of energy by the time we got to sit down and record this week

(i've been doing sidewalk repair in 80+ degree heat all week by hand & i'm still not done... but gratefully the rain we had forced a break - thank you rain for the break!

I got a couple of new pedals once called the cloud burst and the other one is supposed to imitate a oilcan reverb so I put them together and played around with them and then ended up coming up with this

Shitpost Sunday! Had an exhausting week with work and a friend was staying over for a couple days, so not much time to dedicate to music - again. But a streak's a streak, so I noodled around on the M8 in bed before breakfast and "finished it" with what time I had left in the evening.

Started around the idea of modulating a wavetable between two positions very fast, which very quickly turned into this disguuusting (but kinda fun) bass sound. Added extra squelch by layering a simple triangle shape with a quick pitch LFO and went from there.
