feat. Levi the drummer piped thru to VD-DEEP and piano+bass midi notes added the hard way in the DAW, because I composed this piece and I can't play it. And I had a pretty busy week so I didn't have time to sit much at the piano and computer. So I added some wacko sounds instead of my regular piano playing, and tbh there is something kinda crazy and hypnotic about it, which I really like. The second part is very wacky!!!

Let me know what u think about the composition, and how would you imagine solos go on this piece? Do I do a vamp in Gminor? I need a different solos bassline I guess? (since it's really tricky to play over the main melody). Or stay in Eb minor just like the ascending end of chorus? I am leaning towards Gm or even Am. It's a bit more simple and everyone can play smth.

Composition was done on the electric guitar, but there I have even less chance of playing it correctly. But it's a crazy composition, the chords are mostly perfect 4ths, and the way the hand looks on the frets when playing is really some outsider art shit. But hey it works cause it sounds cool, and it's super hypnotic after I've been listening and trying to come up with parts for it.

The bridge thingy is actually played with the fretboard hand on the wrong side ahhha. someday I will make a video and re-record, but it's not gonna be tonight bruthaz...

I am so damn tired my eyes are closing as I finish typing and uploading. I was almost ready to ruin the streak again, but somehow I managed another week.......

I was discussing on Friday with a friend about the good time of point & click games in the 80s - from Lucasarts to Sierra, without forgetting the Broken Sword game. I enjoyed the Sierra ones a lot but Lucasarts were for me the best - especially Loom, Indiana Jones, and Day of the Tentacle.

I think this is what prompted me to try out my hand at a pseudo chiptune. Pseudo because there are some sounds in there that are definitely not chiptune territory (like the end), but hey, i am no purist.

It's just a simple cheap little chiptune, homage to 90s point and click games and maybe SNES RPGs.

All of my tech is broken(glasses, fountain pens, studio laptop, clothes) or on their last legs. But I’ve managed to salvage this blast from the past, which is still a really viable idea that I’d love to expand on.

I’ve written lyrics and a whole song structure to go with it and I look forward to laying it down when I’ve bought new machines.

Really not sure whether to buy a mac mini or new MacBook Pro, but I’m hopefully making the necessary repairs and refreshes and will be back with you shortly!!!

Honestly, go listen to one of my other tracks instead of this one XD

I tried an experiment for this week, where I tried to do most of the instrument selection, mixing, and composing with my cheap speakers instead of my headphones. Like the "car test" in reverse.

As a result, I'm not happy with the mix either in headphones or on speakers, and I don't have the time or energy to fix it...I guess I can say I learned something, though.
