  • Week 18 - clonedkitty - Nivalis
This week's track has a bit of an identity crisis, and at times some muddy bass.
"Nivalis" is the name of the city in Cloudpunk, a game I loved but never finished for some reason.

  • Week 18 - Nik Novo - Among the Stars
I had no real idea this week, so I started off with a bassline I thought of a while ago and developed everything from there. The result is a very spacy/night-sky-y ambient track

  • Week 18 - empva - moarq
some kind of dungeon synth idea - no strudel repl here - just pencil tool in reason - experimenting with weird distortion - sort of noisy fake lo-fi - has some harsh frequencies in it

  • Week 18 - HoolieBrown - Though lost, not forgotten
All of this production after nearly a decade of none has drummed up a lot of old - but mostly good - memories.  It's great to revisit them regardless and think about how much has changed.  It's also great to live in an age where we can look in on the ones that are still around and see what they have been up to if they are inclined to share.  I've done a lot of cinematic work but this may be my favorite ever.  Yes I borrowed the drum intro from Fanfare for the Common Man - one of my very favorites.
Everything was done on M8 - Cello, Violin, Horns, winds, were sample chains along with drums, stacked some hypersynth and a few FM instruments from the M8 to add some texture.  I did a quick master on the desktop and trimmed the ending down but side by side comparison told me it didn't really need it.

  • Week 18 - willdasilvatunes - pay 2 win
bleh..... the joys of creating are few and far between during the last few weeks of music school :( alas, i thought it important to practice making something even if just for its own sake. i wanted to lean a little more into the breakcore-ness of things; theres a lot that I want to learn in this umbrella of genres and this has been my excuse to try new things :) i hope you enjoy !

  • Week 18 - Tomavatars - Pschit
    Hi!
I'm tireeeeed! I want to go to beeeed!
Went out yesterday to a dubby party. Great music, pretty experimental. Went to bed at 6am.
I made this track inspired by the music I heard (but didn't worked enough to make justice).
    Have a nice week!

  • Week 18 - LeBernd - One Turd of the Way
Don't care for this one. Bass patch sounded good when designing it and then I was really uninspired of what to write with it. Used a note map table to mix the 707 drum kit (set different base pitches, volumes and FX amounts for the voices) - hadn't done that before and I thin kit's kinda neat.
Compared against 2024 and saw that I also made the tracks I was most unhappy with on week 17 and 18. So I'll push this out and keep going.

  • Week 18 - Huabun - The Mighty Tree
Small loopable boss-type track. Next week's probably gonna be a bit more exciting, but hope you enjoy nonetheless :)

  • Week 18 - Apticx - Gust
Hey everyone, hope you are doing well.
This week is kind of a recycle of an older idea again where i took a sample and stretched it out to all kinds of textures and added those glitchy sounds by automating the „degrade“ in the M8´s  sampling page to resemble pitched sounds that kinda fit the key.
The original idea had a splice drum sample just slapped over it so i took the time to manually slice the drums this time around and added some spicy halftime drumstep ish thing in the end.
Not very flashy but its a fun contrast to my usual „synthesize everything“ kinda workflow with this song only having a synthesized bass line.
