BE NOT AFRAID! Finally managed to output more of a finished concept for this week! And on Saturday too as I'm out partying tomorrow, early bird and all that lol. Still a bit unsure about the mixing on this one but really happy with the composition, accidentally channeled some Toby Fox vibes with this battle theme but not complaining :) Hope you enjoy, getting a lot of inspiration for next week already!

noodled out the beginning thing on an acoustic guitar while watching the olympics, then attempted to build around it. channeled some ambient thoughts of confusion into what sounds to me like one side of a phone call.

This started with some uke noodling, then some trumpet noodling, then some M8 noodling. I guess this is were songs come from! I don't know enough about music genres to say what this is, but maybe it would be suitable for some rap lyrics? You tell me.

I like how this came out though.

So this week is like fully speedtrash ʱªʱªʱª(ᕑᗢूᓫ∗) ...

I spent most of the week picking away at a track on my Polyend Tracker Mini, and I actually really like it, which is part of the problem... like it needs more work to do justice to what's already there... and I'm busy with some other things this weekend... so last minute pivot. For this one I basically held the feeling of "the grind" in my head... that seemingly endless march towards mediocrity that is life in a corporate American job... and then I just started layering favorited presets until I ran out of time. Since I only had a couple of hours, the result is pretty rough, but hey, maybe that’s the point.

On a personal note, I feel like I'm kinda getting my groove back a little. Like, I think I was trying to do too much in January, and now I'm slowing things down and accepting that I have to pace myself more than I'm accustomed to... the world is just a lot, and I guess that means we all just need to give ourselves a little more "headroom" so to speak. Anyway... I hope you are all doing well this week and staying sane out there. <3

I didn't try anything new here, I just reached for the tried and true. It’s basically just six layers of some of my "go-to" media libraries: Ashlight, Straylight, and Kaivo for the granular textures, layered with Fables and some Tina Guo Acoustic Cello. I did break out iZotope Nectar 4 for the Pharlight vocal granular patch, that I kind of treated like a "real" voice. It was nice to actually use that plugin for once since I hardly ever mix vocals, but it has some pretty awesome presets in it.

However this week I have been going through my album demos, noting all the changes I want to make before mixing and mastering and made the decision that I really don't like this song so I am cutting from the Album. However I decided to polish it up a bit this week and share it here since I haven't had the chance to work on anything brand new
