Oh boy, scramble at the end to submit… Time’s not quite on my side this week, already behind on listening/commenting which doesn’t feel great!
This was a shimmery guitar + slide thing I came up with during last WB that never became a song. I’m also doing a songwriting workshop online via School of Song with Blake Mills (which I currently haven't had time for >.<), so this is also kind of a homework assignment for that. The gist is to create a fictional character and write from their perspective. Seemed like a time when just hanging out on two chords might be okay  Had fun working on instrumentation but I'd enjoy spending more time tinkering, rare little piano appearance too.

Oh it starts again
I’m sorry, I know you’re sorry, I know it’s been…
You know how it feels
To navigate, and to wield
Alone
Making all you can
With your touch, your sand
When you call it takes on a new form
The sense of time won’t be reborn
You know how you feel
You know, so it’s real
The sun pounds evermore
A mop of sweat treats the floor
The moon keeps me up thinking of you
The guilt I hold, the guilt’d grow if you knew
If you call, it takes nothing more
An empty shell, full enough to pour
You know how it feels
And it starts again
I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’ve been away
If you don’t see how much you mean
